The mission of Koistinen Kantele has always been to manufacture and develop the best kanteles.
The passion towards the sound of the kantele has united the Koistinen family over the generations. Master kantele builder Otto Koistinen built his first kantele in 1957. Since then, the tradition has been kept within the family, and Hannu Koistinen started the modernizing of the instrument in the beginning of the 1990's, which reformed the whole image of the instrument, and made it a modern instrument for both professionals and amateurs alike.
